Parenting Coordination
Guiding Parents Through Post-Separation Parenting
Co-parenting after separation isn’t always easy. Even with a solid parenting plan in place, misunderstandings and disagreements can happen. Parenting coordination is here to help.
We offer a structured, child-focused process to support parents in managing ongoing issues and reducing conflict.
How Parenting Coordination Works
It’s a process designed to help separated parents manage conflict and make decisions, outside of the courtroom. It supports parents who need help following or interpreting their parenting agreement or court order.
The Parenting Coordinator is an impartial guide who supports both parents in:
- Clarify the parenting plan
- Help with day-to-day decisions
- Reduce communication issues
- Resolve minor disputes
- Keep the focus on the children’s best interests
It’s not therapy. It’s not legal advice. It’s a practical, forward-looking way to help co-parents reduce conflict and stay on track.

When is Parenting Coordination Helpful?
- Parenting coordination can be helpful if:
- There is high conflict between parents
- There are repeated disagreements over parenting time, holidays, or routines Communication between parents is strained
- The children are caught in the middle of ongoing conflict
The goal is to create stability for the children and a more workable dynamic between parents.
How it Works
We typically work with families for 6–24 months, depending on their needs. The process involves:
Initial Intake: Each parent meets separately with the Parenting Coordinator to discuss concerns and review the process.
Agreement: Both parents sign a Parenting Coordination Agreement.
Ongoing Sessions: Held online for convenience, sessions may be joint or separate.
Decision-Making (if needed): If parents can’t reach agreement, the Parenting Coordinator can make binding decisions on minor issues, as outlined in the agreement.
What Parenting Coordination Can Do For You
Child-Centered: Your children’s well-being comes first.
Efficient: Helps avoid court and resolve issues quickly.
Supportive: Encourages better communication and cooperation.
Structured: Offers clear steps, timelines, and expectations.
